Warm greetings to all. Please note that this article is posted together with my colleague Dr Manfred Moerchen, who is also part of the network.

CBM is an international NGO working to improve the quality of life and inclusion of people with disabilities in the world's poorest communities. This work includes a significant role in inclusive eye health.

CBM produced the following linked booklet to promote discussion and innovation for strengthening environmental sustainability in eye health. The key case study and checklists are from Caritas Takeo Eye Hospital, Cambodia. (Dr Andy Pyott, also a member of the network, was part of establishing this hospital in the 1990s.)

The information was first compiled for CBM’s engagement in the General Assembly of the 'International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness', October 2016, however we believe it would be useful for advancing ‘sustainable development’ in any context. We want  the booklet to foster creative thinking and ongoing gathering of evidence for improved environmental sustainability in health worldwide.

The authors greatly appreciate feedback and opportunities for discussion, and to hear of similar examples from any part of the world. Anyone is welcome to use the material on a not-for-profit basis, with reference made to CBM.    Contacts:
