Sustainable Emergency Care : How to make a Green ED

Frances Balmer

An event open to all those who want to reduce the environmental impact of emergency healthcare and work towards a more sustainable future.

How do we reduce the environmental impact of emergency medicine nationally?

How do we measure the impact of our actions?

How can Emergency Departments adapt to meet the challenges brought by the climate crisis?

This month we are delighted to be joined by Dr Sandy Robertson and Dr Zoe Steley, who will share their experiences as Clinical Co-Leads of the GreenED project and outline the steps for how we can all take action.

GreenED is an initiative from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine aiming to address the environmental impact of emergency medicine nationally; by providing a framework to empower staff to embed environmentally sustainable working practices into their departments and providing the tools to measure their impact. As such GreenED is unique in being the first grassroots-led sustainability framework developed for a hospital setting.

After the presentation there will be opportunity for questions, discussion and networking.
