Hear from Jan Tsai on reducing energy and consumable use in dialysate production, with insights from his research on circular medical device design.

About the Speaker: Jan Tsai – PhD Student, University Medical Center Utrecht
Jan Tsai is a PhD student at University Medical Center Utrecht. His research focuses on designing circular medical devices for dialysis and eye surgery. He holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University. He has worked for several years in the medical device industry as a mechanical engineer in both manufacturing and R&D.
Born in the Philippines, Jan is interested in how state of the art technologies can shape the next generation of medical devices to improve accessibility in low and middle income countries while promoting sustainability in developed healthcare systems.
