This study presents the carbon footprint of the In-Centre Haemodialysis (ICHD) patient pathway in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, mapping emissions across key stages of treatment. It highlights the major contributors to carbon use, including energy, water, consumables, medicines, and patient travel.
By visualising the environmental impact of each stage, the resource supports renal teams in identifying priority areas for carbon reduction. This study serves as an educational and engagement tool, raising awareness among clinicians, managers, and patients, and provides a foundation for implementing more sustainable dialysis practices within healthcare services.
