Medicine Waste in Care Homes

CSH has recently completed a SusQI project exploring medicines waste in care homes. This project was funded through Q Exchange by the Health Foundation and NHS England. More details can be found on the CSH project page, linked below. 

Care home, GP practice and Community pharmacy staff explored simple interventions to address the main challenges identified as contributing to the problem of medicines waste, namely:

• Communication
• Prescription processes
• Management of medicines waste
